At No. 23, a new Charlotte Street mezcalería and tostada bar from the team behind Carousel, imaginative, agave-centric cocktails are paired with Mexican-inspired bar snacks in a laid-back setting. 

Award-winning bartender Matteo Vaccargiu (Equal Parts, Hide, and Pollen Street Social) has crafted a list that marries his passion for quality mezcals with an emphasis on seasonal English ingredients and savoury flavours. Highlights include reimagined classics like this smokey Mezcal Negroni, featuring The Lost Explorer mezcal, Cynar, fino, Campari and burnt orange spray. It's super easy to recreate at home. Just pour in the spirits and stir over ice:


25ml The Lost Explorer Espadín

10ml Campari

10ml Cynar

10ml Cocchi Americano

Stir over ice in a rocks glass. For best results use the biggest ice cube(s) you can get your hands on.

If you're feeling brave, gently squeeze the oils from a thumb size strip of orange peel and flame with a lighter over the finished drink to garnish.
